“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” – Romans 12:2
What is the difference between “being conformed” and “being transformed?” Conformed is to be changed from the outside, while transformed is to be changed from the inside. We need to let God work in our hearts and minds, renovating us from the inside with His Word, rather than letting the world renovate out us from the outside and shape us into its patterns. When you think about that, the ways of the world are really just a façade. It is only skin deep and has no purpose beyond present satisfaction, yet this is where most of us live every day. We compare our collections of stuff and accomplishments in life as though they were real trophies of success. On the other hand, consider for a moment, the person who has let God change them from the inside out. They have passion, purpose, and direction in all they do. Their acceptance in life is not limited to the opinions of others, but rather is found in pleasing God and doing His perfect will. This is the most rewarding way to live life now and forever. Why not let God transform you into the person He intended you to be today?
