“Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.” – Philippians 4:4
Most of the time we want to change our circumstances in order to be happy. That is about as foolish as trying to flatten the waves of the sea to make things just a little calmer. It would be so much better if we learned how to ride the circumstances of life and use them to our advantage. That is exactly what Paul was telling the Philippians. In the middle of whatever life gives you today, don’t focus on the problems, turn to the Lord, and purposely rejoice or find your joy in Him. In the next verse he tells us to take the problems to the Lord in prayer and thank Him in advance for His answers. You will know you are on the right track when you experience His peace in your heart. Have the circumstances changed? Probably not, but you have changed and with God’s power you are living above them instead of being drowned by them. Try it today. It will make your day!
