“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” - Ephesians 3:20
What do you want to be when you grow up? You have heard and asked that question over and over. Yesterday I asked one of my students the same question and then began suggesting ideas. A cute smile came over her face as I suggested that maybe she wanted to be President of the United States of America. “Your very close,” she replied. That stumped me. What is close to being the President? I then suggested that maybe she was interested in being a senator? Her smile increased as she expressed with delight that she wanted to be security to the President. Who would have ever thought of that? So, the question for you today is what do you want to be when you grow up? I mean, what do you want to be for all eternity? In our verse today, Paul is so excited to explain to us that God has had a secret throughout time! Now is the time to reveal it. It is the dispensation of grace. The amazing new concept is the church. God living in each of His children by His Holy Spirit and each person being a member of His “body,” the church. He will change us from the inside out and do more than we could ever imagine through us if we will only let Him. So what is it you want to be? I hope with a smile on your face you can say, “I want to be like Jesus.” He is ready to start the renovations today, will you let Him?
